Dear colleagues!

With a joyful summer spirit, we would like to announce you the time for the most important event at Volda University College is decided!

THE INTERNATIONAL DAY will take place Wednesday, 29^th September, and will be, as some of you know already, the main event during one whole week full of meetings, workshops, visits, dinners etc.

We would be more than happy to have you among our guests and friends present here on the day!!!

An event that gives us the chance to meet, catch up with one year?s work, but most importantly, an event where you have the opportunity to promote your institutions, meet your students that are currently taking a year or semester in Volda and at the same time meet eager Norwegian students that would be delighted to study at your unis?.

Some of you are already familiar with the experience of our International day and we would be more than happy if we could share it again. In any case, here is a short description of what will happen during the day.

The International day at Volda University College is a happening that takes place once every semester (the big even though is in the spring time) and it is mainly thought for the Norwegian students. We want as many of them as possible out around the world, on programs such as Erasmus, Nordplus etc. We reckon the wonderful possibilities of studying abroad and want them to take advantage. This is why with the help of our international students on campus and guests from foreign universities we prepare a ?promoting day?. International students prepare stands about their home institutions and countries, guests give lectures and have small talks about the study offers etc. and we spice the whole day with artistic moments (school choir, student bands, traditional foreign dances, traditional foreign dishes prepared by international students etc.)

Establishing the International day as a regular event at Volda Univesity College, we saw a huge improvement in the student exchange rate. Of course, both Norwegian and international students showed more interest in travelling abroad.

We therefore invite you to join us for this special day and share as much of your culture, information about home institutions and own experience as possible.

There will be events organized during the whole week, from visits, to workshops, to lectures etc. We always encourage our guests to bring brochures, movies, wear national costumes for the event ? so you are welcome to do so.

We are waiting for a positive answer regarding your coming to Volda for the International day 29^th September and International Week (27^th September ? 2^nd October) as soon as possible. We can also help you booking flights; give you directions, advice about the journey and so on, in case you think you need them.

Please see attached the program for the whole week. Details about the International day will come later. Let us know in time if you would like to have lectures, presentations or discussions, as we need time to book for rooms in advance.
